Background

In 2024, women comprised only 11% of executive positions within the tech industry, reflecting the persistent gender gap in leadership roles. Between 2021 and 2024, women and non-binary individuals occupied just 15% of C-suite positions—including CIOs and CTOs—within NASDAQ-100 tech companies. 

This year was not only characterized by key leadership transitions but also by the industry-agnostic impact of emerging technologies and shifting workforce dynamics. The rise of generative AI, emerged as a major technological breakthrough, redefining possibilities across various sectors. However, this rapid advancement also brought to light the underrepresentation of women in AI development, a gap that global leaders like Melinda Gates have emphasized needs urgent addressing. 

The WomenTech Network, along with Executive Women in Tech, has meticulously compiled a list of the 100 most influential chief leaders in tech, women at the forefront of technological innovation and corporate strategy.  

To recognize and honor powerful women moving technology forward, we want to highlight some of the top technologists, innovators, and influential women holding leadership positions in the tech industry. These exceptional leaders set a precedent for future generations with their exemplary leadership within this ever-growing industry.

WomenTech has put together the list of top women in tech leaders to watch in 2025 based on nominations, information from our database, interviews, company websites, and other public sources. The one thing that unites them all is their passion and resolve to make a difference in the tech world.
