Session: The Interface Language: Balancing Universality and Individuality

In the world of interface design, a delicate dance unfolds between universality and individuality. How can we make creative choices that strike a harmonious chord between brand identity and standardized interfaces? When the brand image collides with UI standards, what path should we choose? Join us for "Stories of Choices" as we navigate the intricate balance between usability and personality, universality and individuality, crafting a unique interface experience that's true to your brand. Often at odds, UI standards and branding elements can result in generic, indistinguishable interfaces or unique but less user-friendly ones. Through real-world case studies, we'll share the decisions made and unveil how Schneider Electric crafted a distinct visual language that embodies the brand and adheres to interface design best practices across 100+ software and apps.

Key Takeaways

  • How to craft a memorable and usable brand experience.
  • How to find a balance between Brand Identity and UI Standards
  • How to bring identity into a very large set of technical softwares and applications.
