Tina Aguirre Bio (LinkedIn)

In a 40year career, Tina has done everything from installing computers, to designing an IT Operations Center of the Future, to driving digital for Shell’s Capital Projects. Along the way she has inspired and developed countless people.
Her journey began at Exxon, where she worked days and pursued a degree in Data Processing at night. She loved programming and continued to earn an MSc in computer science.
In 27 years, she moved through the ranks in Exxon. She wrote strategy and designed the outsourced operations model. Following her mentor, she moved to BP, as IT Delivery Manager. She focused on processes and availability and was responsible for bringing uptime kpi’s to 99.9% and broke company records.
She joined Shell as Global Supportability Manager in 2008. Here she eliminated waste banking savings in the millions. Next, she led Retail Operations with accountability for the IT for 44,000 sites.
When Shell asked the question ‘how do we change the culture of the 4000 fte organization and inspire them to become learners” the answer was Tina!
She introduced design thinking, and its success is attributed to her ability to add the human to IT work. Focus on the hearts and minds of individuals, remains one of her core characteristics.
More management roles ensued, she maintained a delivery track record and focused on D&I. She led the global Shell women’s resource group, advises the board for the Hispanic network, and sponsors Shell’s ERG for staff with disabilities.
